Business Development - Medical Affairs

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development professional to join a global CRO and take ownership of their European Business Development Activities. You'll have a hand in creating the strategy and direction for their clients, be responsible for selling Medical Writing services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, and be a key hire to spur their European growth.

The Company

Globally the team are at 500+ people, with a recently established UK team - you'll be working alongside them and reporting into the Global Strategy Director, to take ownership of their European Business Development activities.

The Role

• Support with the already established client based in Europe, nurture and develop existing accounts
• Identify and win new business across the pharmaceutical and biotechnology space
• This particular arm of the business will be focused on their medical writing services - so they are looking for someone who has sold Medical Writing or Medical Affairs activities into pharma/biotech companies (think publications, regulatory and safety, abstracts, manuscripts)
• Ownership of sales performance, lead generation strategy and new business conversion for their European business arm
• Deliver pitches, presentations and attend conferences
• Fully remote from anywhere in Europe, around 20-30% of travel required to meet clients onsite and attend conferences.

About You

• 5-10 years experience in business development, selling medical affairs services or medical writing services
• Thorough knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical industry, terminology, and practices
• Experience must be within medical communications/medical affairs
• Proven account management and growth experience
