WHATS THE MISSION
As an inspirational leader you will support the rapid growth of Astrid & Miyu by cultivating a strong and robust financial control environment.
WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE
Financial Control
- Establish and implement robust policies and procedures to ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and in line with the relevant accounting standards
- Ensure all transactions recorded within the finance team are compliant with the internal policies and procedures
- Drive for innovation: Find solutions to enable all budget holders access to the information they need when they need it
- Take the lead on creating systems and processes to prevent errors in data collection and calculations
- Work closely with all budget holders to ensure support with adherence to budget and expenditure policies
Management Accounts
- Oversee monthly closing process including reconciliations and analysis of P&L and balance sheet
- Oversee the preparation and distribution of internal financial reports maintaining the highest quality reliability and accuracy reports to include P&L by department Balance Sheet and Cash Flow
- Compare results to budget with all budget holders challenging variances
- Present highquality financial results nonfinancial KPIs and performance vs budget / forecast to the leadership team
- Identify and develop appropriate and timely analysis to deliver further insight to budget holders enabling them to manage their areas profitably
- Assist the Finance Director with preparing and presenting reports to the Board of Directors
Statutory & Corporate and Payroll
- Provide financial results to investors
- Prepare schedules for statutory financial statements
- Manage the external UK and Ireland audit process
- Review quarterly UK VAT reports; manage international VAT reporting
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements Companies House HMRC etc
- Ensure our wonderful team are paid correctly and on time
- Review full time and part time payroll schedules prepared by external party
Inspirational Reverse Leadership
- Managing a team of two youll adopt a reverse leadership approach inspiring continuous growth to your team through training coaching and frequent reviews
- Collaborate and build strong relationships with members of the team at all levels of the business to ensure that all information delivered is correct and useful
Sustainability & Positive Social & Environmental Impact
- You will demonstrate proactive commitment to continuously optimising social and environmental impact from both large to small decisions staying committed within the role to growing together as a sustainable business.
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE FROM ME
- A qualified accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA)
- Ideally trained in audit / practice
- Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager experience within the retail industry
- Proven track record of continuous process improvement
- Investor reporting experience is advantageous

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work to a high level of accuracy and to strict deadlines
- Ability to develop a mentor a high performing team
