Job Purpose
The role holder is responsible for developing policies, procedures, and guidelines to manage the organization medium to long Funding FTP policy. In addition to the oversight of funding activities, including the issuance of debt security, in collaboration with GALCO/other relevant departments, and optimizing capital structure.
Main Responsibilities
- Responsible for Asset-Liability Committee material, follow ups, minutes, and support in driving ALCO agenda, lead meeting discussions, review, and approvals. Ensure timely escalation of material issues.
- Prudent management of NBB Group (Bahrain, KSA, UAE and BISB) balance sheet with disciplined practices in overseeing treasury risk exposures. Ensuring adherence to established targets to achieve liquidity, interest rate risk, balance sheet, and capital return metrics.
- Leads bank-wide liquidity risk policy and standards adherence, establishing analytical insights on sizing balance sheet and liquidity requirements including internal stress testing framework, developing contingency plans in conjunction with other stakeholders.
- Engages in establishment and monitoring of liquidity, interest rate risk and balance sheet limits and triggers as well as support reporting integrity of local regulatory requirements.
- Liaises with businesses to ensure the understanding and ability to manage those limits in a well-governed and sustainable environment which allows for business growth.
- Ensure both NBB Parent and BisB adhere to the minimum local capital requirements relevant for the entity based on ICAAP, regulatory requirements, or approved risk appetite. Actively drive capital optimization initiatives across both entities.
- Responsible for transfer pricing processes, including review and approval request for single benchmark yield curves liquidity premium and betas.
- Promote consensus and sound decisions on FTP (term liquidity premium) / LTP (liquidity transfer pricing) to appropriately reflect business profitability based on true interest rates and liquidity costs of franchise, and to transfer hedge-able market interest rate risk for centralized management of by ALM/PMU desks. Maintain a standardized, transparent framework in compliance with internal policies and guidelines, with robust oversight and governance measures in place.
- Interaction with senior management. In addition to active engagement with country risk team on their liquidity and IRR review and challenge processes. Maintain a strong proactive role with local regulators, internal audit, and compliance.
- Collaborate with financial analysis & planning team, capital planning and others to create balance sheet forecast considering impact of business activity on capital adequacy, interest rate risk, liquidity and NIM.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating considerations for banks reputation and safeguarding NBB Group, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policies, applying sound ethical judgement.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or in any other related discipline is required.
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or in any other related discipline is preferred.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA Chartered Accountant is preferable.
- Minimum of 3-4 years of practical experience in a bank or same or similar function.
