Senior Software Engineer - Embedded Linux

L4B Software is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer specializing in embedded Linux. Our ideal candidate who shows enthusiasm for new technologies solutions and devices is an excellent problemsolver and enjoys working in a fastpaced development environment.

In this position you will bring your experience in embedded Linux development to help us create cuttingedge software that powers our marketleading SeeSnake plumbing diagnostic equipment and SeekTech utility locating devices. You will be responsible for a mix of driver middleware and application development on a variety of embedded hardware platforms.

• Lead the design development and customization of embedded Linux solutions using Yocto and Buildroot build systems.
  
• Apply indepth knowledge of Yocto Project and Buildroot to create tailored Linuxbased OS solutions.
  
• Develop optimize and integrate kernel modules and device drivers for seamless hardwaresoftware interactions.
  
• Collaborate with hardware teams to create and maintain Board Support Packages for different embedded devices.
  
• Engage in Linux kernel contributions to improve and optimize features relevant to our products.
  
• Conduct thorough code reviews and implement best practices for delivering robust maintainable and highquality code.
  
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues related to embedded Linux systems.
  
• Stay updated with the latest trends in embedded Linux technologies fostering continuous improvement.
  
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure successful project execution and delivery.
  
• Take ownership of assigned projects providing technical guidance and mentoring junior team members when necessary.
  

Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering Computer Science Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  
• At Least 3 years of handson experience in embedded Linux development and software engineering.
  
• Proficiency in Yocto Project and Buildroot build systems.
  
• Strong expertise in developing and integrating kernel modules and device drivers.
  
• Demonstrated experience in embedded C/C development.
  
• Expertise with Linux kernel internals and contributions.
  
• Experience in creating and maintaining Board Support Packages (BSP) for embedded platforms.
  
• Proficiency with version control systems particularly Git.
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English German is a plus!
