Job Title: Bilingual School Psychologist
Location: Illinois School District
Our school district is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Bilingual School Psychologist for theschool year. This pivotal role is designed to support our diverse student population providing essential psychological services in both English and Spanish. As a Bilingual School Psychologist you will play a critical role in assessing student needs delivering interventions and supporting the mental health and academic achievement of students. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment focusing on enhancing educational outcomes for bilingual students.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations of students in both English and insert language to identify learning emotional and behavioral needs.
- Develop and implement intervention strategies and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with educators parents and other professionals.
- Provide direct support and counseling to students facing social emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Consult with teachers administrators and families to support the academic and social development of students offering insights and strategies tailored to bilingual learners.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings contributing bilingual expertise to facilitate comprehensive educational planning.
- Advocate for the needs of bilingual students and work to ensure equitable access to educational resources and support.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of assessments treatments and communications.
Requirements
- Master s or Doctoral degree in Psychology or Educational Psychology from an accredited program.
- Valid Illinois School Psychologist License
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting preferably with a bilingual population.
- Strong understanding of cultural competency with the ability to engage effectively with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated knowledge of psychological theories assessment tools and evidencebased practices relevant to a bilingual educational setting.
