Job Title: Head Chef

Location: Nanyuki

Position Overview: As the Head Chef you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations ensuring the highest standards of food quality presentation and customer satisfaction. You will lead by example inspiring and mentoring our kitchen staff to consistently deliver outstanding dishes. A la carte experience is essential for this role as we specialize in providing la carte dining experiences to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage the kitchen team including chefs cooks and kitchen assistants.
  2. Develop innovative and enticing menus that showcase creativity seasonal ingredients and culinary expertise.
  3. Ensure efficient and smooth operation of the kitchen including food preparation cooking and plating.
  4. Maintain high standards of food hygiene safety and sanitation in accordance with health regulations.
  5. Monitor food costs and inventory levels implementing strategies to minimize wastage and maximize profitability.
  6. Train and develop kitchen staff fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  7. Collaborate with other departments such as frontofhouse staff and management to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
  8. Stay updated on industry trends and culinary techniques incorporating new ideas into menu development and kitchen practices.
  9. Handle any kitchenrelated issues or challenges in a proactive and professional manner.
  10. Uphold the restaurants reputation for exceptional dining experiences consistently exceeding guest expectations.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in culinary roles with a strong background in A la carte dining.
  • Proven track record of success in leading kitchen teams and managing kitchen operations.
  • Culinary qualifications or certifications preferred.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Creative flair and passion for food and cooking.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong organizational and timemanagement abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to upholding high standards of quality.
