Electrical Draftsman

Responsible for creating electrical wiring, layout drawings and schematic diagrams for electrical devices.

Duties & Responsibilities, (include but not limited to):

Draft working drawings, wiring diagrams, wiring connection or cross-sections of underground cables, as required for instructions.

.

Assemble documentation packages and produce drawing sets which are then checked by an engineer.

.

Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design details.

.

Check dimensions of materials to be used.

.

Prepare Kahramaa and QCCD document.

.

Draw master sketches to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions.

.

Create visual guidelines for construction purposes.

.

Use Computer Aided Design and Drafting systems to prepare drawings.

.

Create and store drawings electronically.

.

Prepare drawings to production or construction teams and provide adjustments as necessary.

.

Confer with engineering staff and other personnel to resolve problems.

.

Supervise and train other technologists, technicians and drafters.

.

Provide the support and cooperation in regards to the Quality department requirements and Audits.

.

Provide the support and cooperation in regards to the business development & tenders management activities when requested.

Education & Experience:

.

Diploma/Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering.

.

5 to 8 years of experience

.

Working knowledge of 3D modeling skills for electrical systems.

.

Auto Cad/Revit proficiency.

Required Skills:

.

Knowledge of engineering principles, as well as general knowledge of generating facilities, power substations and protection and control schemes.

.

Design skills, including the development of detail design drawings from engineering guidelines and sketches.

.

Proficient with the use of personal computers including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation applications.

.

Able to interface with electrical engineering and manufacturing on specific project assignments.

.

Innovative self-starter, able to work with a minimum of supervision.

.

Communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult and resolve internal and external customer issues which may be critical, sensitive, moderately complex, or urgent in nature.

.

Ability to work with all levels of an organization including people with different styles and backgrounds.
