An architectural draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed drawings of architectural designs and plans for buildings and structures according to specifications provided by architects to be used in construction. Conceive, design, plan and construct models for new or modified structures. Coordinate and determine types of materials needed for project.
Duties & Responsibilities, (include but not limited to):
- Create drawings for civil project.
- Obtain and assemble data to complete architectural designs, visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary.
- Draw rough and detailed scale plans for buildings and structures, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets and other data.
- Draw precise details of architecture, interior and landscape.
- Consult technical handbooks and tables while in drafting phase.
- Use Computer Aided Design and Drafting systems to prepare drawings.
- Create and store drawings electronically.
- Check dimensions of materials to be used
- Understand the quality system of the company & adhere to it accordingly.
- Determine procedures and instructions to be followed, according to design specifications and quantity of required materials.
- Supervise, coordinate, and inspect the work of draftspersons, technicians, and technologists on construction projects.
- Program drawings into automated systems.
- Check the CAD standards for clients & produce drawings accordingly.
- Liaise & consult with other drafters, designers, construction supervisors and clients.
- Provide the support and cooperation in regards to the Quality department requirements and Audits.
- Provide the support and cooperation in regards to the Business development & tenders management activities when requested.
