Position: Sustenance Engineer

- Provide leadership and guidance to the electronics design team and electronics suppliers on new development programs for aircraft electronics equipment from inception to certification and transfer to production.
- Drive skill development within the EE team and routinely mentors others in technical area of expertise.
- Interface with crossfunctional development team program management and customers to ensure overall technical compliance of the product and serves as an expert resource to other engineers.
- Define electronics architecture based on required functionality safety and compliance with certification regulations. Technical responsibilities include circuit design analysis integration debugging establishing test methods and test equipment design. Responsible for quality of design in terms of cost performance DFM assembly and test.
- Review project deliverables to ensure accuracy and adherence to schedules and production commitments.
- Performs design & cost tradeoff studies. Directs product improvement and cost reduction initiatives by responding to internal and external customer requests.
- Write procurement specifications conduct vendor design reviews and vendor liaison. Assist purchasing and quality assurance departments in surveys vendor selections product evaluation production support and component obsolescence issues.
- Prepare and present technical information for TIMs PDRs CDRs etc.
- Support proposal bids and risk assessment and mitigation for electronic development activities.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology from an accredited institution.
- (7) seven years of experience in electrical/electronic engineering and design.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder) Political Asylee or Refugee.
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
Preferred qualifications:
- Advanced Technical Degree Preferred.
- Experience with fuel systems fuel gauging low power electronics and/or capacitance measurement.
- Project management experience including schedule technical risk and cost.
