Overview

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with various departments to determine procurement needs and develop strategic sourcing strategies
• Negotiate with suppliers to obtain favorable terms pricing and delivery schedules
• Assess the quality and suitability of products and services before making purchasing decisions
• Oversee the purchase order process and maintain accurate records of purchases
• Manage vendor relationships and evaluate their performance through regular assessments
• Keep abreast of market trends and conduct research to identify potential suppliers and costeffective purchasing opportunities
• Analyze and interpret data to make informed purchasing decisions and optimize inventory levels
• Monitor and manage inventory to ensure timely availability of required materials
• Implement procurement best practices and continually improve processes to enhance efficiency
• Adhere to procurement policies procedures and compliance with relevant regulations and standards
• Utilize purchasing software to streamline procurement processes and maintain accurate records
• Collaborate with finance department to ensure timely payment processing and resolve any invoicing discrepancies
• Participate in the development and review of procurement budget and cost control measures
• Generate regular reports on procurement activities savings and supplier performance
• Contribute to the development and implementation of sustainable and ethical sourcing practices

Required qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management or related field
• Proven experience working as a Purchase Executive or in a similar procurement role
• Demonstrated expertise in negotiation vendor management and contract administration
• Proficiency in using purchasing software and other relevant procurement tools
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive procurement decisions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external vendors
• Sound knowledge of procurement best practices sourcing strategies and market trends
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic and fastpaced environment
• Understanding of inventory management principles and supply chain fundamentals
• Familiarity with financial principles and budget management
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in procurement processes and recordkeeping
• Ability to adapt to new technology and continuous learning to enhance procurement capabilities
• Certifications in procurement and supply chain management are an added advantage
• Strong ethical values and commitment to sustainable and socially responsible procurement practices
