What we are looking for

We are looking for a Cluster Category Activation Manager to Implement and activate the brand/category plans in the appointed markets in line with the Marketing Business strategy and objectives in order to build strong and profitable categories and brands. This role will report to the Cluster Commercial Manager.


What does the job involve

  • Conduct data gathering and analysis to prioritize insights leveraging both internal business data and external market and consumer understanding.
  • Act as the guardian of brand equity ensuring consistency and relevance across all communication and activation efforts.
  • Develop annual and longterm category portfolio and brand strategies tracking performance against clear targets and objectives.
  • Deliver the annual marketing plan and contribute to trade activation plans to measure brand presence and availability.
  • Manage portfolio and SKU mix to maximize profitability tracking financial performance against set objectives.
  • Lead innovation projects coordinating with crossfunctional teams and tracking results for sustainable outcomes.
  • Coordinate yearly A&P plans and monitor spend to ensure alignment with forecasts driving ROI on promotional activities.
  • Ensure marketing plan execution excellence financial targets and market share and category penetration increase.
  • Optimize marketing investment management leading to cost savings and improvements in brand funnel metrics.
  • Oversee brand communication consistency across all touchpoints monitoring execution and intervening as needed to stay on track.


Qualifications

  • Min of 5 years experiences in Marketing Trade Marketing Sales within the African Context.
  • Strong in planning & execution and good in strategic thinking & agencies briefing.
  • Strong in data analytics and good financial acumen.
  • Proficient in following commercial matrix skillset including:
    • Strategic Planning: Category Portfolio and Brand Strategy
    • Integrated analytics & consumer Insights
    • Financial Acumen: Portfolio and Brand Profitability
    • Integrated journey management and activation (ability to integrate consumer shopper and customer to define the most relevant touchpoints along the P2P to connect with the Consumer / Shopper)
    • Project Management (incl. financial impact) and Partnering Externally
    • Commercial Technology (apply the technology / digital tools that exist to enable the full commercial plan maximizes our impact with customers and
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong on driving Accountability and Responsibility
  • Strong on driving alignment and sense of urgency
  • Strong in translating observations into insights
  • Experience in managing cross functional teams and working with Agencies
  • Experience on driving innovations
