Med Tech - Transfusion Tissue Services

Duties: Provides technical expertise and consultation to all Blood Bank Labs. Services provided include immunohematology testing compatibility testing for blood product administration volume reduction and irradiation of appropriate blood products and the storage dispensing and tracking of tissue products. Assures accreditation standards are followed at all facility Blood Bank Labs for the following: FDA American Society Blood Banks (AABB) DNV DCH College of American Pathologists (CAP). Assures technical competency of Blood Bank employees.

Skills: Physical Requirements Works in a fastpaced clinical environment. Works in an area which contains bio hazardous (infectious) materials along with chemical fire and mechanical hazards. Duties may involve standing walking stretching stooping bending and lifting light (20 pound) to moderately heavy (50 pound) loads.

Education: Bachelor s degree required. BB (ASCP) or SBB (ASCP) required.
