Automation Developer

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with end users to define requirements for new automation applications or enhancements to existing automation applications.
• Work with IT Operations Support team for level 1 support training
• Design and develop cost effective solutions to meet user requirements.
• Document and deploy applications in a timely fashion.
• Provide support for applications used in the factory operating in a 24x7 fast moving environment.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering Computer Science or related discipline is required (Masters Degree is a plus)
• At least 3 years of experience in the development of realtime automation applications including database and User Interface design for WPF and Windows Form

PREFERRED:

• Team Skills: The successful candidate must have demonstrated success in operating in a collaborative team development environment.
• Programming Skills: The successful candidate must have experience in using the Microsoft Visual Studio Development Suite including C# and Team Foundation Server.
• Industry Standards: Understanding of SECS/GEM protocol and/or other industrial automation standards and manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Database: Must have programming experience with Microsoft SQL Server and writing stored procedures.

SKILLS:

• Written communication skills: The successful candidate must be able to write clear requirements documents design documents test plans and enduser documentation.
• Verbal communication skills: The successful candidate must be able to present requirements designs test plans and status to peers and management.
