GS05
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS04 grade level or pay band in the Federal
service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military industrial volunteer governmental fire department brigade; 2) Performing rescue operations; 3) Detecting reducing or eliminating potential fire hazards; 4) Operating fire communications equipment; 5) Controlling hazardous materials incidents.
OR
Have successfully completed a 4year course of study in an accredited college or university in Fire Training Fire Science or another related field of study.
OR
Have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
***The GS05 position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Firefighter I and Firefighter II. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications you will be rated ineligible. Copies of Certifications MUST be submitted with your application.***
GS04
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS03 grade level or pay band in the Federal
service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military industrial volunteer governmental fire department brigade; 2) Performing rescue operations; 3) Operating fire communications equipment.
OR
Have successfully completed a 2year course of study in an accredited college or university in Fire Training Fire Science or another related field
of study leading to a Bachelors degree.
OR
Have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
***The GS04 position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain the Firefighter I and Firefighter II certification within 12 months of employment.***
