Overview
The Registered Nurse CVICU is a crucial member of the healthcare team providing specialized care to patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. They play a key role in monitoring and treating patients with cardiac issues ensuring their comfort and safety and communicating with the multidisciplinary team to deliver highquality care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess plan implement and evaluate nursing care for patients in the CVICU
- Monitor vital signs and administer medications and treatments
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust patient care plans
- Provide education and support to patients and their families
- Respond to emergency situations and provide immediate care as needed
- Utilize critical thinking skills to make informed decisions about patient care
- Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research activities
- Maintain a calm and composed demeanor in highpressure situations
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Associate or Bachelors degree in Nursing
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Prior experience in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit or critical care setting
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of cardiac monitoring and interventions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced and challenging environment
- Detailoriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Emotional resilience and the ability to provide compassionate patientcentered care
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records and healthcare technology
