Overview:
As a Vessel Operations Cost Controller you will play a pivotal role in ensuring precise cost management for vessels port calls bunker and various other operational expenses within our systems. Your primary focus will be on accurately aligning these costs with actual expenses and fostering seamless coordination between suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Record cost agreements in our operational system with precision.
- Ensure accurate cost allocations at the order level.
- Update orders with actual costs before monthly deadlines.
- Advise cost owners/managers and trade managers regarding cost accruals for expenses not initially reserved at the order level on a monthly basis.
- Identify and communicate discrepancies on invoices to the respective cost owners.
- Collaborate with internal operation teams to validate data from invoice specifications and KPI reporting.
- Engage with suppliers to address discrepancies and implement measures to minimize future invoice issues.
- Conduct thorough invoice checks prior to approval by the cost owner.
- Maintain monthly KPI reports to validate invoices effectively.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong numerical literacy and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Excel for data management and analysis.
- Exceptional attention to detail in task execution.
- Ability to efficiently process and identify discrepancies within large datasets.
- Competent in computer systems and adept at utilizing electronic media distribution.
- Fluent in English both written and verbal.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in international transport is advantageous.
- Minimum one year of experience in a similar role.
