Linux Systems Engineer fmd - Compute Operations Cloud Virtualization

Tasks

The team Compute Operations Cloud runs maintains and improves the virtualization and hypervisor stack of IONOS Cloud. Our duty is to keep the virtual servers of our customers alive and healthy. We are a team of highclass and skilled engineers.

• Plan and execute uninterrupted deployments for software and configurations.
• Work on varied and exciting projects to introduce and improve new server generations products and product features.
• Actively participate in the creation and implementation of visions ideas and plans for the infrastructure.
• Commissioning of new servers in coordination with the data center teams.
• Assist in the maintenance of our physical and virtual infrastructure.
• Monitor operate and troubleshoot our services.
• Enhance our tools for operations our automation monitoring alerting and reporting.

Qualifications

• Many years of experience with the administration of Linux servers preferably Debian or Ubuntu.
• Experience with the uninterrupted deployment of software and configurations in productive customer environments.
• SaltStack or Ansible Prometheus and Grafana are standard tools in your toolbox.
• Good understanding of virtualisation and server networks.
• Indepth experience with Bash; experience with Python is an advantage.
• Git basics are available; knowledge of merge conflicts / feature branches / merge requests / continuous integration (CI/CD) is also a plus.
• Businesslevel English and German B2.
