- Unit Capacity: 36 Beds Population Served: Cardiac and Neuro Stepdown: Cardiac bedside monitoring Cardiac drips TR bands Post heart caths Stroke/Neuro patients BIPAP overflows Ages of Patients Served: Young Adult through Late Adult (18 60) Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:6 Core Staffing Plan: Variable staffing grid to include: Registered Nurses (RNs) Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) Nurse Interns (NIs). An RN assumes full responsibility for the patients on each team. Staffing Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test
Roles and amp; Responsibilities
- Implements and monitors patient care plans.
- Monitors records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for wellcoordinated patient care.
- Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
- Assesses and coordinates patients discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. and nbsp;
- Within scope of job requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
