We are seeking a Cytotechnologist to: Perform microscopic screening of gynecologic ThinPrep slides with the Hologic ImagerPerform manual QC rescreens on gynecologic specimens Perform microscopic screening of nongynecologic and Fine Needle Aspirate (FNA) slide preparationsDocumentation of interpretation results in Epic BeakerAssess stain and quality of prepared slidesEmbrace flexibility by undertaking additional duties as needed to support the departmentMinimum Requirements: Facility Requirement: Traveler must have permanent address outside 50mile radius of Madison (permanent address must be included in travelers profile: resume Medefis portal and all onboarding documentation must have permanent address listed). Education: Bachelor s degree in medical technology clinical laboratory science chemical physical biological sciences or a related field. Completion of an accredited cytotechnology program. (Education verification is required. Make sure education detail is included in profile or it will be declined). Do not submit profiles who do not meet minimum education listed above. Experience: Traveler must have completed minimum of three years of level 1 trauma hospital laboratory experience or similar size hospital or lab.Traveler must have experience noted in the description above. This should be included on skills checklist or profile (gyn thinprep slides QC rescreens on gyn specimens FNA slide preparations etc...)Epic baker experience highly preferred. Successfully completed traveler assignment (13 weeks). Licensure and Certification: ASCP Cytotechnologist certification required. (Include copy in profile) References: Needs 2 completed references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only for work performed in the last two years). FloatingTravelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the travelers competency skills/experience. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the traveler s assignment if the primary unit no longer has a need shifts will be reassigned to another unit in order to complete contract Location: University Hospital 600 Highland Ave Madison WI 53792 Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation
Shift: 40 hrs/week Day shifts: Monday Friday between 8:00 AM 4:30 PM. No weekends no call. Manager/traveler may consider 13 or 26 week assignment.
