Job Description

Overview

As a CORE Trainer you are not only the foundation of the department but also the future of the company. This role is thus the most important within the team. This is where the rest of the team builds off from. You are the front line and have an extremely important role to play within our worldclass system. The word that best encapsulates your role as a CORE Trainer is fundamental. This is what you will be assessed on and expected to deliver consistently. You will need to learn what the fundamentals are understand the importance of them within our environment and lastly how to execute them to our extraordinary standards repeatedly.

Safety

  • Creating safe training environments for our guests in both Personal Training and/or Group Exercise formats.
  • Perform effectively daily gym maintenance checklists for all training locations.
  • Develop an acute sense for hazard perception whilst manning the gym floor during private sessions and in group exercise formats.
  • Competent at spotting movement patterns performed with free weights resistance machines and body weight.
  • Learn how to perform the Overhead Squat assessment effectively as a basic screen to use with clients.
  • Competent at assessing and determining the start points/threshold via isolated active range of motion assessments and exercise execution knowledge for clients.
  • Understand feel and be able to deliver intensity safely to clients via your exercise programs. This is the missing factor to fasttrack results.
  • The ability to understand how clients react to different coaching cues and also to know the difference between internal and external cues.

Implementation of CORE Fit Training System

For both Personal Training and Group Exercise.

  • Must use and follow strength training templates provided by the Line Manager for the month.
  • If need or want to deviate away from the template then written approval must be provided by your line manager.
  • On not only your clients but also on yourself. You must go through what you will give your clients. Never give anything to anyone that youve not done yourself.

Proactivity

  • In actions around the gym floor and the facility.
  • In your technical learning and selfdevelopment focus on anatomy biomechanics and physiology.

Main Duties

  • Record and monitor daily safety checks of the gym equipment.
  • Ensure potential hazards are dealt with and reported to Operation.
  • Keeping the gym clean and tidy making sure all loose equipment is stored safely after use.
  • Gym introductions and inductions provided to our members.
  • Demonstrates and explains how to use gym equipment safely and effectively to our members.
  • Engagement with clients ensuring clients have towels and water or anything they need upon arrival.
  • Attending team meetings education and training.
  • Attending four classes per week two Yin (Pilates/Yoga) and two Yang (HIIT Boxing Bootcamp Cycling).
  • Actively participate in training and development programs and maximize opportunities for selfdevelopment.
  • Act at all times by CORE policies and procedures.
  • Ensure to have 35 hours of available session slots on Mindbody and regular sessions are booked in advance.
  • Appearance and hygiene are important wear your clean uniform at all times in the facility if you are not training yourself.

Conditions of Work

  • Flexibility in working hours and location of work can be changed based on business needs.
  • Working 40 hours weekly between training gym instructing group exercise and gym shift.
  • Oneyear contract the contract shall be reviewed and renewed every year.
  • 90 days probation period which can be reviewed and extended to 180 days.

Experiences & Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 2 Fitness Instructor.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Fitness Trainer/Instructor.
  • Certified Personal Trainer with a recognized certification (e.g. NASM ACE ISSA).
  • Accreditation through UKSCA or ASCA or on the way to obtaining not essential but an advantage.
  • A Bachelors or Masters in a relevant exercise science discipline is not essential but an advantage.
  • Proven experience (at least one year) in delivering exceptional coaching and achieving measurable results with general population clients.
  • First aid and CPR certifications are preferred.
