Job Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY OF Dut:
Responsible for assisting physicians with patient care clerical environmental and organizational tasks. Responsible for thorough and accurate triage and documentation of vitals medications and medical histories following established standards and practices. Act as liaison between physician and patient to ensure quality patient care.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Under the supervision of the physician:
Assists in providing care and performing office functions.
Prepare treatment rooms for patient exams.
Takes blood pressure pulse temperature and respirations. Room patient.
Record vital statistics in Epic EMR system.
Explain treatment procedures and medications.
Serve as provider delegate and provide prescription information to pharmacy.
Process phone messages and perform general clerical duties.
Maintain confidential patient records.
Follows principles of medical ethics and professionalism for medical assistant.
Keeps rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies.
Any other assigned duties by physician or manager.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: MA/CMA:
Successful attainment and retention of CCMA CMA (AAMA) or NCMA certification or RMA.
Documented completion of a Medical Assistant program through an accredited institution of higher learning.
BLS certification
Qualifications:
Practical knowledge in the following areas is preferred: examination process diagnostic and treatment room procedures medical equipment and instruments safety hazards and precautions confidentiality/discretion.
Experience with use of electronic medical record preferred. EPIC EMR a plus.
Must either have six (6) months of experience as a Medical Assistant OR have graduated from an accredited MA or Medical Office Management program that meets nationally accepted standards.
Within one (1) year from date of hire continued employment will require successful attainment and retention of CCMA CMA (AAMA) or NCMA certification or RMA plus documentation completions of a Medical Assisting program through an accredited institution of higher learning.
Previous experience in a medical office environment required.
Office practice knowledge required to include examination diagnostic and treatment room procedures common safety hazards and precautions confidentiality/discretion.
Patient courteous and tactful.
Ability to follow directions accept orders and perform repetitive tasks.
Computer literate Epic experience preferred. Office 365 Adobe and electronic documentation capabilities.
