Our client is a sheet metal manufacturing business producing high quality metal components for a diverse range of industries. They are seeking an experienced Laser / Turret Punch Operator to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Operating and programming laser and turret punch machines to produce precise highquality sheet metal components based on engineering drawings and specifications
- Read and interpret technical drawings blueprints and production orders
- Utilise nesting software to optimise material utilisation and minimise wastage
- Select appropriate tooling and set up the machines for each job
- Input programs and adjust machine parameters using the machines controller interface
- Monitor machine operations to ensure the quality and accuracy of produced parts
- Inspect finished products to verify conformance with specifications
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to optimise production processes and improve efficiency
- Organise materials and maintain inventory levels to ensure smooth operations
- Minimise material wastage by efficient nesting and effective use of materials
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of the laser and turret punch machines
- Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organised work area
Hours
- Monday to Friday 40.5 hours
- 2pm close on Fridays
- Saturday work as required
Requirements
- Minimum five years experience as a Laser/Turret Punch Operator in the sheet metal industry
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Strong knowledge of laser and turret punch machine setup operation and programming
- Fluency in nesting software and CAD applications
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage materials effectively and minimise wastage
