JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide project accounting processes to ensure accurate and timely accounting results.
- Play a key role in supporting the accurate and timely monthly project accounting financial close.
- Monitor project accounting results to ensure alignment to established financial controls.
- Drive continuous improvement standardization and automation of project accounting processes.
- Assist in the annual budget planning process including project managing key milestones coordinating required deliverables within the Technology programs and FP&A.
- Monitor key indicators to identify and highlight areas of possible concerns including collaborating with project managers.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of monthly quarterly and yearend reporting package.
- Analyze project capitalization to ensure that project actuals and forecasted time are being recorded accurately.
- Help develop and execute training programs to ensure new Project Managers understand the project accounting close financial components and how to accurately forecast project costs.
- Manage track and report details related to cost saving initiatives.
- Prepare ad hoc reporting and analyses as needed and assist teams with research on project accounting questions.
- Contribute to the continuous development and maintenance of the Project and Portfolio Management system.
- Take on and lead special projects as required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree in accounting and/or Finance or related.
- 35 years of accounting and financial forecasting experience (IT environment a plus).
- Good knowledge of finance accounting and control principles including U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Excellent interpersonal analytical and communication skills.
- Experience with Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) systems (e.g. Planview HP PPM etc.) data analytics and prior experience driving adoption and improvements.
- Experience with financial reporting for a technology organization.
- Skilled with Excel using formulas and pivot tables and creating management presentations in PowerPoint.
- Oracle Financials experience preferred but will consider other ERP systems.
