Job Description

Position Title: Outpatient IR Technologist
Location: New York USA
Position Type: Full Time Day
Schedule: Monday Friday 8 am4 pm

We are seeking a highly skilled Outpatient IR Technologist to join our dynamic team. In this role you will perform Neuro vascular and other Interventional special procedure imaging under Xray CT and Ultrasound guidance. Working under the supervision of the Radiology Technical Manager or designee you will support operational needs and logistics while maintaining the highest level of clinical quality and patient care possible.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Understand and adhere to performance standards policies and behaviors.
  2. Prepare and position patients correctly for specific examinations ensuring proper documentation and adherence to protocols.
  3. Assume responsibilities for designated areas and/or procedures producing good technical images and reviewing completed scans for quality and completeness.
  4. Assist physicians during procedures as necessary.
  5. Participate in oncall rotation as required.
  6. Perform quality assurance and calibrations QA/QC testing as mandated by regulatory agencies and governing bodies.
  7. Adapt and work when emergent procedures or situations arise in the department.
  8. Perform routine office duties such as answering phones checking previous reports/films and utilizing EMR and PACS systems.
  9. Notify appropriate staff upon exam completion to ensure the timeliness of the next case start time.
  10. May be assigned as an instructor or preceptor.
  11. Professionally communicate with patients and family members to address questions or concerns.
  12. Provide knowledgeable and skillful care based on patient populations age physical and psychosocial stature.
  13. Ensure all necessary medical surgical supplies are ordered circulated properly and stocked for all cases in each designated area/modality.
  14. Attend staff meetings and inservices.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Graduate of an allied health education and accredited radiography school or hospitalbased program.
  • NYS DOH license and ARRT(R) certification required.
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Advanced ARRT Certification preferred (CT Mammography MRI ARDMS or NMTCB).
  • Must uphold continuing education requirements to meet standards set forth by governing bodies.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required or must be completed within 90 days of hire.
  • Completion of radiation dose pledge for Image Wisely/Image Gently through ACR either during the orientation period or before the end of the probationary period.
  • Strong leadership qualities and exceptional interpersonal skills are essential.
