Tasks

About You:

A YLD Software Engineering Consultant you will be responsible for leveraging your expertise in PHP JavaScript and Python to lead the migration of legacy systems to new scalable and efficient platforms. The ideal candidate is not only a seasoned developer but also possesses a strategic mindset capable of architecting solutions that meet both current and future business needs. You will collaborate with crossfunctional teams mentor junior engineers and contribute to the overall success of our technology initiatives.

Requirements

Your daytoday responsibilities will look like this:

• Evaluate document and maintain existing systems while proposing strategic solutions for migration and improvement.
• Build Continuous Integration and Delivery pipelines with Infrastructure as Code
• Lead the planning and execution of migrating legacy systems to modern architectures.
• Provide technical expertise in PHP JavaScript and Python to guide the development team.
• Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to design scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Actively participate in coding debugging and testing activities.
• Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
• Work closely with crossfunctional teams including product managers designers and QA engineers.
• Mentor and guide junior developers fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Evaluate new technologies that can enhance the performance and efficiency of our clients systems.

Youll have the following skills and experience:

• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer with a focus on PHP JavaScript and ideally Python (You are language agnostic and happy to jump into anything that comes your way)
• Demonstrated expertise in migrating legacy systems to modern architectures.
• Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to think strategically about technical challenges.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React or Angular.
• Experience with database technologies (e.g. PostgreSQL MongoDB).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure GCP).
• Understanding of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g. Docker Kubernetes).
