Overview:
As a Lead Estimator you will collaborate with the Estimating department to spearhead preconstruction activities and the pursuit of new construction projects. Your primary role involves accurately quantifying pricing strategizing and preparing estimate packages to secure profitable work. This position involves regular interaction with internal and field staff Operations and Executive Leadership Teams customers and thirdparty partners and vendors. Reporting directly to the Preconstruction Manager you will be an integral part of the Operations team.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently solicit competitive and specificationcompliant material and subcontractor pricing.
- Develop detailed organized and accurate material and labor manhour estimates based on project specifications and drawings.
- Create comprehensive Bills of Materials for process mechanical and plumbing piping systems based on specifications and drawing requirements.
- Review and correct others takeoffs and estimates to identify risks and discrepancies.
- Perform manual takeoffs and compile estimates using digitized software like QuoteSoft and B2W.
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience estimating industrial/mechanical projects ranging from $5k to $20M.
- Bachelors Degree in Construction Management Engineering Data Science Mathematics Statistics or related field. Equivalent technical experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience leading estimate or proposal teams.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong acumen in mathematical calculations and data processing.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and execute tasks in a timely manner.
- Knowledge of MCAA rates.
- Proficiency in software such as B2W HCSS Primavera P6 Microsoft Project Excel and Microsoft Office suite for estimating and scheduling.
- Field and/or shop experience.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team to achieve results.
Working Conditions:
- This role is based at our corporate office in Vancouver WA. Occasional travel may be required to support projects.
- Work is typically performed in an office environment with occasional visits to jobsites.
