Job Summary:
The Electrical Prefabrication Supervisor is accountable for overseeing the accurate and timely assembly of prefabricated electrical assemblies for projects. Additionally they are responsible for the training and development of individuals within the prefab shop including apprentices and other journeymen. Reporting directly to the Electrical Division Manager the Prefabrication Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation of the electrical prefabrication processes.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The role involves supervising a prefab crew of up to 20 individuals.
Duties/Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations company safety protocols and customer safety requirements.
- Develop document and provide training on new assembly and installation methods and procedures.
- Collaborate with Foremen Superintendents and field personnel to customize electrical installations for each project.
- Mentor and train apprentices and prefabricators on best practices.
- Lead and assist prefab employees in the assembly of electrical assemblies based on blueprints and electronic drawings/models.
- Coach designated journeymen on tasks such as material ordering and timecard processing.
- Manage material procurement for prefabrication assemblies across multiple job sites.
- Coordinate deliveries with internal and external suppliers and delivery services.
- Perform physical tasks including conduit bending and wire pulling.
- Coordinate and inspect conduit work for individuals applying for electrical positions.
- Oversee written electrical tests and ensure their completion.
- Maintain accurate weekly timecards for the entire prefab shop.
- Collaborate with the Electrical Division Manager on the longterm development goals planning and success of the prefab shop.
- Demonstrate leadership experience in managing a crew at the foreman level or higher for at least four years.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform any other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills And Abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook etc.).
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety quality and efficiency.
- Prior experience in teaching or leading apprentices is preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification required or willingness to acquire within six months.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Journeyman license required or a minimum of six years of experience.
- At least four years of commercial/industrial electrical experience is necessary.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods with minimal movement.
- Capacity to walk and move around for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and carry weights up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility to bend at waist hips and knees sometimes for prolonged periods.
- Capability to push and pull weights up to 50 pounds.
- Fluency in English is required.
Work Environment:
- Approximately 90% of work will be conducted outdoors in a temperatureregulated warehouse.
- Occasional work and travel to job sites may be necessary involving various environmental conditions.
- Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment while actively assembling.
- Ability to work at different heights using various equipment including ladders and aerial lifts.
