HELLO POTENTIAL FUTURE OATLY EMPLOYEE.

Its us the original oatmilk company that started in Sweden back 30 or so years ago and has since expanded to the U.S. where weve continued growing at a rate such that we need more brilliant minds to come work with us to keep the momentum going and the oatmilk flowing.

We are looking for a Copywriter to join our North America team. Were also looking for an Art Director so if youre already teamed up please tell us in the application and ask your partner to apply to the Art Director role.

As a writer if youve ever wondered what it takes to craft Oatlys unique tone of voice youll get the opportunity to find out and flex your skills as you will be given a writing exercise as part of the interview process.

The role will be based in the United States is remote and will require travel.

Due to business needs you must reside in Eastern time Central time or Mountain time.

Our creatives are part of the Oatly Department of Mind Control (ODMC) an idea machine embedded in Oatly that creates rulebreaking trenddefying laughinducing behaviorchanging doesntlooklikeadvertising something elsehyphened hard to categorize work.

The ODMC is a magnet for talented specialists in creative project management event media editorial production and PR/Comms. Our department and pretty much our company are built for you to do the best work of your career while working for the best client of your career. Which since we approve our own work is technically you.

AT THE ODMC PEOPLE WHO THRIVE ARE PEOPLE WHO:

  • ARE HIGHLY ADAPTABLE. You wouldnt think the oat drink industry has a lot of twists and turns but it does and were pretty good at finding them.
  • LOVE MAKING STUFF. We minimize layers so the team can spend more time doing rather than debating. And when were doing were handson our head of global design has been known to hand cut letters out of felt for a social media post.
  • DONT NEED TO WAIT FOR DIRECTIONS. We tend to attract selfstarters and they find lots of opportunities to start something. Some of our most impactful work wasnt born out of a brief it was born out of an idea.
  • ARE CULTURAL SPONGES. Were fascinated by trends across a wide array of subjects. We love seeing what people are caring about and trying to understand why.
  • SEEK COLLABORATION. The best work we do requires teamwork. Youre right the second and thirdbest work we do also requires teamwork. Thats not the point.
  • HAVE A MINDSET OF CONSTANT IMPROVEMENT.Internally were relentless in trying to get to the best work. Externally were challenging wellentrenched behaviors. Leading a plantbased revolution is a lot of fun. But its not always easy.

The ODMC is filled with misfits people who would not be at their personal or professional best if they were working in a stuffier more traditional corporate environment. So its kind of ironic that were sharing a bunch of qualities that would make you a perfect fit. Alas we think this will help.

YOUD BE AN IDEAL COPYWRITER CANDIDATE IF MOST OF THE FOLLOWING IS TRUE:

  • You have 6 years experience creating advertising as copywriter and creative maker.
  • You know how to create share and articulate your work without a ton of handholding.
  • Youve shaped 360 work across lots of media from film to social to in store and activations & events.
  • You have both the conceptual ability to come up with great ideas and the fluency of craft to execute those ideas to perfection across all media.
  • Youre equally masterful with short and longform writing.
  • You get the traditional rules of style tone and voice enough to completely disregard them.
  • You know the difference between a brand voice a corporate voice and a human voice.
  • You understand that a big part of your job is to be a guardian of the Oatly brand.
  • Your brain works in untraditional ways yet you always make your ideas make sense
  • Anything can be a creative opportunity is something you believe and invest in.
  • You can pivot on a dime if something isnt working you can improvise something else/better.
  • Your portfolio shows you create selfpropelling ideas: they inspire people to talk and share or they generate press; the kind of ideas people want to fight or fight for.
  • You have diverse experience with video and audio production from concept through finished work.
  • You consume and inherently understand social media.
  • Youre also comfortable exploring without a map; Oatly is on track to be a onceinageneration company much of what we do is forging our own path so having a sense of bravery and entrepreneurial spirit helps a lot.
  • In addition to advertising your portfolio also shows who you are as a person side projects personal passions whats the spice you could add to the ODMC stew
  • Youre the kind of teammate that simply put makes others smile when they see you assigned to their project; they know youll check your ego at the door communicate well be supportive and detailoriented and that the project will be better because youre part of it.

YOUR APPLICATION:

The salary for this role will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to geographic location internal equity experience education specialty and training. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set level of experience and specific location. Compensation may also include bonus commission or equity as applicable. Our good faith estimate range is $100000$130000 USD.
