Concrete Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

HSE:

• Take Safety as a first priority and Follow Golden Rules.
• Attend required SHES / QA Trainings and participate actively in SHES initiative such as Safety Observation Cards / SHES walkdowns, etc.
• Ensure the Welding Engineering Team have performed all necessary SHES trainings prior site work starting.

FB & LL :

• Provides Concrete FB & LL to LL Manager.
• Ensure Concrete FB & LL are cascade to all Inspectors within JV Quality Team and their Subcontractors.
• Coordinate and promote the Feedback & Lesson Learned collect from the site Civil Quality team.

CONCRETE ENGINEERING ACTIVITIES:

• Promote a Quality culture on the project, ensuring implementation of Concrete Engineering best practices and continuous improvement of quality standards and systems.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all concrete engineering.
• Use technical skills to interface with Engineering department to create and design concrete mixtures. This includes selection and approval of the materials, improving the durability, plasticizers.
• Design and prepare the trails mixes, test concrete, and analyze test results to ensure compliance to the design parameters.
• Oversee the entire life cycle of a project, from pre-design to post-construction.
• Problem-solving skills to find solutions to challenges that arise during the concreting activities starting from batch plant, concrete pouring, concrete curing.
• Collaboration between the design and construction teams as both teams are responsible for different but equally important parts of the project.
• •Witness all the lab testing, both routine and scheduled tests. Ensure and propose the appropriate tests to ensure the results are easily understood and interpreted to comply with the design parameters.
• Working knowledge of detailed concrete data analysis and have the systematic update of the data.
• Analyze the capability of concrete production and ensure the construction schedules are met. These to be highlighted to the concerned production departments.
• Manage and mentor a team of Civil Quality Area Lead, Inspectors, providing guidance and support as needed to ensure compliance with specifications and codes.
• Is able to prepare and review subcontractors’ quality control procedures including the repairs for concrete works.
• Provide guidance to the concrete placement considering the hot weather, durability, curing, retarder, finishes, admixtures etc.
• Interface with CPY, Subcontractors and JV teams for all activities relevant to Concrete works/Engineering.
• Assists Site QC Manager and discipline QC Lead in resolving quality problems related to Concrete and materials.
• Lead or participate in investigations to resolve Concrete quality issues, conducting root cause analysis, recommending corrective actions, and ensuring that they are effectively executed.
• Report progress and daily feedback to Site QC Manager and Company Quality Manager.
• Issue and expedite identified NCRs related to Concrete activities.
• Perform Surveillance of Concrete Works.
• Implement QFE program.
