School Nurse is responsible for monitoring students' health and providing support and guidance to students and staff. Also, work closely with parents to ensure that their children are receiving the best possible care.
Qualifications, Experience and Personal Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
- A minimum of two years nursing experience in school setting is preferred.
- Registered in NHRA license.
- BLS (Basic Life Support)/CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to assess situations and act quickly.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent organizational and computer skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans and implements school health management protocols.
- Develops procedures and contingency plan for emergencies.
- Verifies vaccination records.
- Treats minor injuries.
- Utilizes existing health resources to provide appropriate care of students.
- Maintains, evaluates and interprets cumulative health data to accommodate student’s needs.
- Provide guidance on health and wellness.
- Contacting parents when students are ill or injured.
