One of our manufacturing clients in Oshawa ON region is looking for the Health & Safety Specialist for their facility.
Key Responsibilities:

Program Development and Implementation:
- Develop implement and manage comprehensive health and safety programs and policies specific to the automotive industry.
- Ensure compliance with local state and federal regulations related to occupational health and safety.

Risk Assessment and Hazard Control:
- Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses in automotive manufacturing and operational environments.
- Implement control measures to mitigate identified risks and hazards.

Training and Education:
- Develop and deliver training programs for employees contractors and management on health and safety procedures regulations and best practices.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging risks to update training content accordingly.

Incident Investigation:
- Lead investigations into accidents near misses and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Implement measures to prevent the recurrence of incidents.

Emergency Preparedness:
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans for automotive facilities.
- Coordinate drills and exercises to ensure effective response in the event of an emergency.

Safety Audits and Inspections:
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of facilities equipment and processes.
- Work closely with relevant departments to address findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze health and safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present regular reports to management on health and safety performance.

Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay current with changes in health and safety regulations and standards applicable to the automotive industry.
- Ensure the organizations compliance with all relevant laws and standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science or a related field.
- Professional certifications in health and safety (e.g. CSP CIH) are highly desirable.
- Postsecondary education in Occupational Health and Safety and/or Bachelors degree
- Working towards CRSP certification
- 3 years of Health and Safety experience
