Job Description:

We are currently in need of an Emergency Room (ER) Nurse who is currently licensed and ready to take on the challenge of our fastpaced emergency room. Our ideal candidate is a highlyskilled compassionate quickthinking and reliable ER registered nurse.

In this role you are expected to deliver exceptional care for our patients in the emergency department of our evergrowing hospital. Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintaining care standards in the emergency room.
• Able to assess patients quickly prioritize and assist in minor procedures.
• Manage the patient checkin process the performance of triage work for doctors and assisting with initial insurance paperwork.
• Communicate with doctors and patients to keep everyone updated on test results and treatment recommendations.
• Collaborate with laboratory personnel and report lab findings back to ER doctors.
• Assist in the care of traumas cardiac arrests strokes sexual assaults and conscious sedation.
• Demonstrate sound decisionmaking in emergency situations based on the conditions of patients such as vital signs patient presentations and assessments.
• Provide RN care for all ER patients as well as handling of intubations defibrillations auto transfusions Medlock insertions splinting and more.

Requirements:

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day qualified candidates will need the following:

Education Requirements

• Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
• Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates preferred for experienced RNs

Experience Requirements

• One year RN Emergency Room experience preferred
• Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty

Licenses/Certification Requirements

• Unencumbered KS RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
• BLS from American Heart Association required upon hire (or within 8 weeks. Cannot start orientation on unit without it)
• ACLS from American Heart Association required within 6 months of hire
• ENPC required within 6 months of hire
• NIHSS required within 6 months of hire
• PALS required within 6 months of hire
• TNCC required within 6 months of hire

Physical Requirements

• Medium Work (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally and/or up to 20lbs frequently and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
