Overview:
The Admission Counselor plays a crucial role in the recruitment and admission of students to the institution. This role is responsible for guiding prospective students through the admissions process providing accurate information about programs and services and representing the institution at recruitment events. The Admission Counselor also plays a key role in building relationships with high school counselors and community colleges to promote the institution to potential students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide prospective students through the admissions process
- Provide accurate information about programs admission requirements and financial aid options
- Assist students in completing application forms and other admissionrelated paperwork
- Conduct individual and group information sessions for prospective students and families
- Represent the institution at college fairs high school visits and other recruitment events
- Build and maintain relationships with high school counselors and community colleges
- Collaborate with academic departments to stay updated on program offerings and updates
- Contribute to outreach efforts to underrepresented student populations
- Utilize CRM systems to track and manage prospective student communications
- Participate in training and professional development activities
- Prepare and present admission reports and statistics
- Collaborate with the marketing team on promotional materials and strategies
- Assist with oncampus admission events and orientations
- Participate in admission decisionmaking processes
- Adhere to ethical standards in recruitment and admissions practices
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field
- Prior experience in admissions counseling or related field
- Demonstrated knowledge of higher education systems and admission procedures
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in CRM and other admissionrelated software
