Job Description

Position Title: Transition Program Manager
Location: Remote US
Type: Permanent
Pay Rate: As per Exp.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Coordination:

  • Review and contribute to the comprehensive project plan provided by the MSP Transition Leader outlining tasks timelines and milestones for the MSP transition.
  • Collaborate with the Transition Manager and MSP Transition Leader to align project goals with the broader transition strategy.

Resource Management:

  • Work closely with the Transition Manager to allocate internal resources effectively ensuring that personnel and technology needs are met.
  • Coordinate with department heads to ensure adequate staffing and support during the transition period.
  • Partner with the MSP Transition Leader to ensure adequate resourcing to deliver transition activities deliverables and milestones.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Partner with the MSP Transition Leader and MKC Transition Manager to establish and maintain clear communication channels with all stakeholders providing regular updates on project progress.
  • Collaborate with the Transition Manager to address concerns manage expectations and ensure transparency throughout the project.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks associated with the project and work with the Transition Manager to develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and manage risk factors to keep the project on track and within scope.

Vendor Coordination:

  • Collaborate with both the current MSP and the new MSP ensuring alignment with the transition plan and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Assist the Transition Manager in ensuring the preparation and readiness of the new MSP to fulfill contractual obligations and readiness for SLAs attainment.

Quality Assurance:

  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of the transition project.
  • Collaborate with the Transition Manager to conduct regular assessments ensuring that the new MSP services meet organizational standards.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed project documentation including plans reports and meeting minutes.
  • Work with the Transition Manager to generate regular reports for leadership and stakeholders summarizing project progress and outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in project management business administration or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager particularly in managing IT transitions or similar projects.
  • Strong project management skills with proficiency in project management tools.
  • Excellent communication leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the Transition Manager and crossfunctional teams.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and best practices

Experience & Skills:

  • More than 5 years of experience in project management demonstrating proficiency in planning execution and monitoring of projects.
  • Over 3 years of experience working with managed service providers understanding the dynamics and requirements of such partnerships.
  • Extensive background of at least 5 years in project management and strategic planning showcasing the ability to align projects with organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience of at least 5 years including formal team leadership roles indicating the capability to lead and inspire teams effectively.
  • Experience with transformation and transition programs illustrating adaptability and expertise in managing complex organizational changes.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps practices highlighting modern approaches to project management and software development.
  • Certification in ITIL V4 or V3 demonstrating knowledge and expertise in IT service management best practices.
  • Selfmotivated with the ability to informally lead project teams fostering collaboration and driving results.
  • Strong leadership skills including strategic thinking at a global level and exceptional communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Positive approach to customer service with the ability to handle highpressure support needs in a calm respectful and efficient manner.
  • Ability to present with authority influence others and mentor remote teams while valuing diverse perspectives.
  • Strong technical experience enabling the review of project requirements technical specifications and action plans translating them into executable processes.
  • Experience working with diverse global crossfunctional and crosscultural teams demonstrating adaptability and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to set and deliver against agreed deadlines ensuring timely completion of project milestones.
  • Proficient in conducting research into product and servicerelated issues facilitating informed decisionmaking.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problemsolving abilities enabling effective resolution of complex challenges.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a highpressure environment maintaining focus and delivering quality results.
  • Experience working both independently and in teamoriented collaborative environments demonstrating versatility and adaptability.
  • Thorough understanding of project and program management techniques and methods ensuring effective project execution and delivery.

Nonnegotiable Requirements:

  1. Strong Background in Project Management: The ideal candidate must have proven experience as a Project Manager particularly in managing IT transitions or similar projects. This includes at least 5 years of experience in project management with 3 years specifically working with managed service providers.

  2. Bachelors Degree in Relevant Field: A Bachelors degree in project management business administration or a related field is mandatory. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for effective project management.

  3. Proficiency in Project Management Tools and Methodologies: The candidate should demonstrate proficiency in project management tools and methodologies especially with experience in Agile IaC (Infrastructure as Code) and DevOps practices. Certification in ITIL V4 or V3 is also required indicating familiarity with IT service management best practices.

  4. Exceptional Communication and Leadership Skills: Strong communication leadership and interpersonal skills are essential for this role. The candidate must be able to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams lead project teams informally and communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization.

Nicetohave Skills:

  1. Experience with Agile and DevOps Practices: While not mandatory experience with Agile and DevOps practices would be beneficial indicating a modern and adaptable approach to project management.

  2. Formal Team Leadership Experience: Experience in formal team leadership along with demonstrated skills in effectively leading diverse global crossfunctional and crosscultural teams would enhance the candidates profile.

  3. Change Management and Highpressure Environment Adaptability: Skills in change management adaptability to highpressure environments and a positive approach to customer service would further demonstrate the candidates ability to handle complex project challenges.

  4. Research and Analytical Capabilities: Experience in conducting research into product and servicerelated issues along with analytical problemsolving abilities would be advantageous for effectively addressing project requirements and challenges.
