Position: Business Analyst
Location: Annapolis Baltimore &/College Park MD (OnSite)
Duration:2 year Engagement (1 Year Base 1 Optional Year)
DGS has been charged with a largescale IT modernization effort to identify and implement a modern cloudbased financial and project management system to manage the funding expenditures status and various artifacts of multimilliondollar design construction and facilities operations projects more efficiently timely and accurately. This new system will replace an AS400 mainframe system that is at endoflife is manual and labor intensive and not timely in its capture or delivery of its data.
Duties/Responsibilities
Current state analysis
Coordinate with legacy system users/subject matter experts to understand and document the current implementation (the legacy AS400) system capabilities and supporting business processes/workflows.
Future state analysis
Coordinate with business stakeholders to solicit and document business requirements processes/workflows and key system capabilities/functionalities that need to be delivered as part of the modernization effort.
Translate requirements into technical specifications
Prioritize future Business needs to support a phased delivery implementation.
Create the RFI/RFP for vendor/product system solicitation including creating a traceability matrix and vendor scoring model.
Assist Project manager and stakeholders with vendor/product evaluation and scoring.
Testing & Quality Assurance.
Create test plans and test cases to validate the tobedelivered system functionalities workflows and data.
Coordinate and document testing activities user testing regression testing and testing of production issues.
Training & Documentation.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations changes and processes for reference and training.
In conjunction with the delivery partner(s) assist in enduser training & support of the delivered solution.
Issue Resolution
working with stakeholders and delivery partners investigate and resolve system related issues.
Expectation/Requirement/Quals
At least eight (8) years of experience as a business analyst for ITrelated projects preferably across multiple hardware and software platforms.
Experience with data analysis and migration ETL experience is a plus.
Prior project delivery experience the use of Agile/Safe methodologies is a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills including communicating effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Demonstrated success documenting and delivering multimilliondollar SaaS / COTS IT implementation projects.
Capital Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) experience preferred specific attention to the construction industry is desirable.
Experience working with largescale enterprise efforts implementing complex business applications that use relational database management systems and integrate with other external systems.
Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams.
