Job Description
Position: Data Platform Engineer with Snowflake
Location: Pittsburgh PA (Onsite 3 days per week)
Eligibility: USC or GC holder
Experience:
- Proven experience in modernizing platforms and building data technology solutions.
- Past financial experience or experience working with loans is highly desirable.
Platform Modernization:
Lead the initiative to modernize the Loans Platform from scratch. Collaborate with analysts and platform function resources to deliver platform functionality focusing on data processing as defined by the architect.
Data Technology Expertise:
- Demonstrate expertise in data technology platforms with a primary focus on Snowflake.
- Possess strong ETL (Extract Transform Load) skills as a secondary expertise.
- No Python required but familiarity with data processing technologies is essential.
- Utilize data modeling skills to design and implement a robust data structure.
- Build and tune the platform from the ground up ensuring optimal performance.
- Integration and Seamless
Responsibilities:
- Work on integrating different applications within the Loans Platform.
- Ensure seamless communication between various systems to provide realtime access.
- Address any challenges related to legacy ODs and flat file drops.
- Manage the transition from standalone systems to a centralized data lake.
- Facilitate the smooth transfer of data from existing systems to the modernized platform.
- Develop the capability to service loans across the entire banking infrastructure.
- Ensure the platform accommodates diverse loan applications and processing needs.
- Collaborate effectively with team members architects and stakeholders.
- Communicate technical solutions to nontechnical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all aspects of the data technology platform.
- Ensure documentation is uptodate and accessible to relevant team members.
Educational Qualification:
Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science Information Technology).
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Snowflake and strong ETL skills.
- Data modeling expertise is essential.
- Familiarity with legacy ODs and flat file drops.
- Ability to work with databases and ensure realtime access to all systems.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
