The Grain Marketing Advisor s role is to develop and maintain customer service relationships with farmers while originating five million bushels or more yearly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of grain markets: trends charts local supply/demand competition carry/inverted markets.
- Originate grain bushels; create grain marketing plans
- Build and maintain customer relationships and reports.
- Support team unity and achieve group goals.
- Speak to a minimum of 20 to 30 farmers a day by phone emails farm visits marketing meetings.
- Understand and utilize company grain contracts.
- Understand Option strategies.
- Strong decisionmaking negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to remain flexible to everchanging dynamics.
- Ability to maintain independent time management skills.
- Learn all aspects of the grain business unit.
- Ability to take direction and willingness to assist where needed and take on new tasks.
- Assist with grain scale operations when needed; Ensure inbound and outbound grain quality.
- Stay up to date with market competitors and relay information to grain team.
Qualifications
- 5 years grain marketing experience. Proven record of growing grain origination.
- Persuasive business communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as with the team cohesively.
- Ability to prioritize in fastpaced setting.
- Ability and willingness to work longer hours when needed.
