You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1) Conducts drug therapy monitoring.a) Ensures each patient s drug profile is developed in a manner that promotes the effective and safe use of pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical delivery systems.b) Enforces safety procedures for narrow therapeutic index drugs.c) Manages patients in established outpatient drug therapy clinics.d) Attends daily patient care rounds as assigned.e) Performs drug therapy monitoring consults per protocol as assigned. 2) Dispenses medications.a) Accurately interprets all physician orders.b) Actively collaborates with the prescriber when the order can be improved either by direct communication or via chart notes depending on the urgency of the request.c) Supports processes that affect the accurate and timely delivery of drugs and drug products. 3) Provides drug information.a) Provides accurate and timely drug and drug therapy information.b) Maintains proficiency in all available drug information resources. 4) Performs supervisory duties.a) Supports an environment of teamwork and cooperation to accomplish quality pharmaceutical patient care and departmental goals.b) Directly supervises all Pharmacist Assistant and Clerk positions.Education:1) Bachelor s of Science in Pharmacy required.Experience: 1) Recent clinical hospital experience preferred. Knowledge Skills Abilities: 1) Knowledge of all current state and federal laws pertaining to the practice of pharmacy2) Ability to positively interact with other pharmacy assistants clerks pharmacists providers nurses other health system employees and medical sales representatives. License/Certification/Registration: 1) Current license issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy.
