Job Description
- Review and provide constructive recommendations to improve, where necessary, the “NEOM Environmental Protection and Sustainability Law” and “NEOM Environmental Protection and Sustainability Regulations”.
- Supervise the development and support the review and continual improvement of world-class biodiversity legislative instruments (including regulations, rules, standards, guidelines, procedures, codes of conduct, and protocols), regulating the conservation management and sustainable use of terrestrial, aquatic and marine biodiversity in NEOM at the species, habitat and ecosystem level.
- Ensure that all key biodiversity thematic issues (including: in- and ex-situ conservation management; biodiversity mainstreaming; restoration and rewilding; protected area planning, declaration, management and compliance; threatened species assessment and conservation; sustainable use of genetic resources; biosecurity [including invasive alien species and genetically modified organisms [GMOs]]; access and benefit sharing of genetic resources; biotechnology; biodiversity offsetting; and natural capital) have been adequately addressed by NEOM biodiversity regulatory framework.
