Job Description

As a Network Controller you will play a pivotal role in supporting critical missions through your expertise in network operations and maintenance. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with sophisticated network security capabilities and support operations that are vital to national and global security.

Key Missions Supported:

  • JRSS (Joint Regional Security Stack): Centralized network security suite.

  • Enterprise SATCOM Gateway Services (ESGS): Technical and operational support for DoD Gateway facilities.

  • Airborne Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance Operations Support.

  • Missile Defense Agency Groundbased Midcourse Defense (GMD) Communications Network.

  • Operational Engineering Service Activations Performance Management Configuration Management Administration and Security.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Proactively seek solutions to resolve monitoring errors through research and documentation.

  • Troubleshoot network issues using router commands understanding loops alarms and errors alongside other advanced troubleshooting methodologies.

  • Employ network monitoring tools to identify track and resolve issues efficiently escalating complex issues as needed.

  • Efficiently create and update incident tickets utilizing Remedy.

  • Address networking technologies issues on a live global network infrastructure.



Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum education: High school diploma with 13 years of relevant experience.

  • Must possess DoD8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security CE or equivalent) upon starting.

  • Willingness to work in a 24/7 operational setting.

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: alarm surveillance fault management LAN maintenance performance management.

  • Expertise in routers switches crypto devices routing protocols DSN/DRSN Video Services Promina CISCO Juniper MSPP DWDM Optical Switching.

  • A general understanding of network topologies including transport and IP networks.
