Senior Enterprise Architect

We have a 2year hybrid Senior Enterprise Architect contract that may be extended by our client. The anticipated start is mid to late March 2024. This is not a fulltime assignment and it is currently estimated to be around 3000 hours of work.

The Senior Enterprise Architect will perform remote work within the United States or onsite at our clients offices in Sacramento California. Remote work must be preapproved by our client and must be carried out only within the United States. The Senior Enterprise Architect must be able to communicate through use of video and audio with our client staff throughout the duration of the project. Cameras are expected to be turned on during formal events project meetings virtual working sessions checkins or other informal collaboration events as needed.

Our client is seeking a Senior Enterprise Architect that is proficient in Mainframe Development Services to enhance and provide solutions for our clients application and systems. The Senior Enterprise Architect will work with our client staff during all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle. The Senior Enterprise Architect is expected to have knowledge in online batch and service mainframe support methodologies. The Senior Enterprise Architect is expected to perform complex system impact analysis on proposed legislation proposed and approved application enhancement requests and project opportunities. The prescribed work activities must be consistent with industry and our client mainframe standards.

Task Summary

• The Senior Enterprise Architect will provide professional services associated with the our client Mainframe systems and services knowledge transfer training and documentation complex analysis development and testing of our clients Mainframe existing and new systems and services. All modified existing and new applications and services must be architected in a way that they are maintainable reusable and consistent with our clients existing design including maintaining existing reports functionality.
• The Senior Enterprise Architect will provide our client with a general outline of their strategy for delivering services to be performed that provides estimated timeline details associated with the requested work knowledge transfer and training being provided that will be reviewed and agreed upon with the designated Contract Manager. Agreed upon deliverable dates will be documented and the Senior Enterprise Architect will be held accountable for meeting these deliverable dates by the designated Contract Manager.
• The Senior Enterprise Architect will work with our client staff to create a technical design and architecture code unit tests documentation and all other applicable artifacts and deliverables required for the product being delivered. This will include but will not be limited to any deliverables assigned to the Senior Enterprise Architect for a product being delivered such as solution assessment documents design document assignments research analysis documents documentation assignments new code create and modification of code assignments JCL assignments procedure creation and modification of procedures unit test assignments review assignments knowledge transfer and training assignments and leadership assignments.
• The Senior Enterprise Architect will provide a solution that integrates with our clients existing infrastructure and meets all our client standards and conventions while providing all necessary documentation and artifacts related to the specific work being performed.
• The Senior Enterprise Architect will provide knowledge transfer and training services to our client staff as necessary on the following:
  • How to build maintain and deploy new applications and modifications to existing applications.
  • How to setup our client developer staffs computer environment to build debug and test the applications.
• The Senior Enterprise Architect will work with designated our client staff to review and update existing application requirements and diagrams as needed.
• The Senior Enterprise Architect will work with designated our client staff to deploy applications to the appropriate environments.
• The Senior Enterprise Architect will provide Production Incident Support including defect resolution as applications are deployed and postimplementation to the designated Contract Manager.
• During the duration of the contract the Senior Enterprise Architect must work with the designated Contract Manager regarding the work schedule and absences of the Senior Enterprise Architects staff. If the Senior Enterprise Architects staff needs to schedule time off or make adjustments to their work week it must first be approved by the designated Contract Manager prior to the absence or adjusted work schedule. Approval of absences will be contingent upon assigned work and shall not impede with work deadlines.
• All activities performed as a result of this engagement must be scheduled in advance and approved by the designated Contract Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

All experience must be no more than Ten (10) years old.

• Bachelors Degree in an ITRelated or Engineering field. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a yearforyear basis.
• 5 years Full Time Equivalent (FTE) experience working with COBOL.
• 5 years Full Time Equivalent (FTE) experience working on a z/OS mainframe system using TSO and ISPF.
• 7 years of experience in applying Enterprise Architecture principles.
• 5 years of experience in applying Enterprise Architecture principles in a lead capacity.

• Easily adapts to and embraces changing organizational structures and methodologies.
• Willing and eager to learn new tools and procedures.
• Experience with MS Office tools (Outlook Word Visio and Project).
• Knowledge of the mainframe environment (input/output datasets JCL Batch Onlines etc.).
• Knowledge and experience in Natural ADABAS DB2.
