Industrial Engineer
About the Job:
We are seeking a passionate detailoriented Industrial Engineer to evaluate our current operations and to establish more efficient and systematic production processes. The Industrial Engineers responsibilities include analyzing operations designing workflows and production processes reducing inefficiency and ensuring that final products meet established quality standards.
The successful candidate must have a proven background with efficient systems that integrate workers machines materials information hardware development and implementation knowhow for the manufacture of complex products. Candidate must have a BSIE MSIE or equivalent engineering discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
This is a unique opportunity for a qualified individual in a technologically diverse organization that offers broad manufacturing management opportunities for the fabrication of multiple existing products and will include new products that are under development.
Objectives of this Role:
- Analyze and evaluate existing systems and processes identifying valueadded and nonvalueadded activities to solve design challenges
- Conceive design test and develop innovative solutions based on analysis and organizational objectives
- Evaluate and explore new and existing processes equipment and materials as an input to scheduling methods performance metrics and financial standards
- Foster clients reputation by delivering innovative solutions while upholding company federal and state regulations
- Manage and conduct employee training for productivity improvement projects and mentor fellow engineers and technicians
Responsibilities:
- Review engineering specifications
- Develop management controls systems
- Determine how to conduct and deliver manufacturing services with maximum efficiency
- Participate in research to determine the qualified places to have manufacture components
- Utilize principles of mathematics science and engineering to streamline processes Identify opportunities to prevent waste and inefficiency in production
- Research and test design ideas to determine feasibility utilizing Lean Manufacturing Kaizen Six Sigma and root cause analysis to formulate/support innovation corrective actions and continuous improvement activities
- Develop and design robust manufacturing concepts to simplify/improve manufacturing processes to ensure best practice
- Institute quality control procedures to resolve quality control procedures
- Create and maintain required manufacturing process documentation including detailed work instructions process flow charts capacity and utilization studies time and motion studies standard work cycle time analysis and line balancing
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to gain insight and direction to successfully complete projects
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in engineering (IE or ME) Masters degree preferred
- 5 years related engineering/management experience
- Indepth understanding of lean manufacturing principles
- Experience with building prototypes
- Proficiency with analytical tools workflow time study and process balancing
- Ability to interface with program management manufacturing leads customer and functional leads; provide daily direction and guidance to junior associates and management
- Advanced experience using MS suite including Access Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with the implementation and use of ERP systems
- Strong project and event scheduling skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Experience working on multidisciplinary teams
- Creative problemsolving skills
- Adept critical thinking skills for complex issues.
