Brief Description of Job Duties:
- This position under the direction of Human Services Executive Branch Information Technology (HSEBIT) Project Management Office Manager will manage the planning development and implementation of projects policies and procedures to ensure their effective delivery. The primary responsibilities will be the management of business process reengineering projects that align with Kansas Department for Children and Families (DCF) and Division of Economic and Employment Services to facilitate the accomplishment of their mission goals and objectives.
Skills required:
- Manage projects utilizing best practice project management methodologies
- Demonstrates professionalism when dealing with challenging people and situations
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly learn new business and technical processes
- Ability to create and maintain project work plans in MS Project
- Ability to create and maintain project documents in MS SharePoint
- Experience with utilizing and managing through MS Teams
- Proven ability to selfdirect
- Proven ability and desire to solve problems and present implementable solutions
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Create and deliver presentations using Microsoft Project Microsoft Visio Word Excel etc.
- Facilitate groups in consensus decisionmaking
- Create accurate estimates for the work to be completed utilizing staff
- Build and maintain team cohesiveness between contractors and State staff
Knowledge and ability to utilize the current version of the following products:
- Microsoft Word Excel Visio Teams and Project
- MS SharePoint
Experience required:
- Five years of actual IT project management experience: monitoring and reporting project status preparing schedules managing budgets and coordinating/directing teams.
- A high level of proficiency with MS project.
- Preferred but not required: Project management certification: Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or State of Kansas Project Management Certification.
Education required:
- Bachelors degree and two years of experience with IT related project management or four years of experience with IT related project management.
- Additional experience in the areas listed above may be substituted for the required education as determined the hiring manager.
