The successful candidate will be the first point of contact to library users, therefore should possess excellent customer services skills, the ability to assess customer needs, provide guidance and assistance to basic reference and research. This includes assistance with the use of Library equipment (printers, computers, photocopiers, scanners, printers, computer applications (Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, specialized business, engineering, IT and digital media software) and direct library users to appropriate Library staff when required. The successful candidate will use the Integrated Library System (ILS) to check out library materials, update records, input new acquisitions, manage the booking of study rooms, and search the library catalogue. Other important functions are shelve inventory, check books according the Library classification system. He/she will maintain order and accessibility of books, process incoming library materials (records, books, DVDs and serials,) assist with interlibrary loans, document delivery, recordkeeping to facilitate timely access to resources, process books, journals, and records for disposition, including creation of lists and adherence to retention schedules.
