Best Western Ponderosa is searching for PartTime Housekeeping Room Attendants to join our team. Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor our Room Attendants operate both independently and as part of a team working together with other departments to enhance our customers experience by ensuring the property is consistently clean and orderly. This position is ideal for students stayathome parents who want to take on a parttime role and anyone else wanting to work for an organization that truly values and appreciates its employees.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintains the hotel rooms and building to ensure a safe and clean experience for hotel guests and associates
- Sets up cleaning carts with supplies maintains carts and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion to enhance efficiency and ease of cleaning rooms
- Cleans and wipes windows doors walls closets and fixtures in rooms public areas and hallways
- Washes shower walls tubs and cleans toilets and stall walls
- Wipes exposed pipes and cleans mirrors sinks and walls to ensure clean and sanitary guest and public restrooms
- Replaces towels soaps and all room amenities and restocks literature that has been removed by previous guest or is soiled or torn to ensure adequate supply for arriving guests
- Washes all hard floor areas (linoleum tile etc.) by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas
- Dusts and polishes all furniture fixtures and wall hangings
- Strips bed of all linens and remakes with fresh linens
- Removes all trash/recycling from rooms
- Checks closet for cleanliness wiping closet doors handles and overhead shelves
- Restocking the guest room supplies (e.g. hangers extra blankets extra pillows)
- Vacuums rooms public areas and hallways
- Inspects door and window locks to ensure they are in working order and immediately alerts management to an unsecured or unsafe situation for the safety of guests and employees.
- Checks lights and remotes to ensure all are in working order
- Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager
- Maintains a friendly cheerful and courteous demeanor always
- Maintains customers privacy
- Maintains a high level of professional appearance and demeanor
- Must be dependable and on time
- Treat all coworkers with respect
- Adheres to all hotel policies and procedures as outlined by hotel standards and Federal State and Local laws including OSHA regulations
- Follows proper procedures in handling hazardous substances
- Must use appropriate protective equipment as needed for job task
- Perform laundry attendant duties when required
- Performs other duties as assigned
Successful Candidates Must Have:
- Fourteen years of age and older Fourteen through seventeen years of age will have a modified job description provided by Management
- Ability to work independently and stay motivated
- Exceptional customer service orientation
- Effective prioritization and time management abilities
- High level of professionalism speed and attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles use of cleaning products and operation of standard cleaning equipment
- Ability to scrub and scour surfaces extending arms over head bending and stooping to perform cleaning tasks
- Sitting standing walking reaching twisting turning kneeling bending and squatting in the performance of daily activities will be expected in addition to grasping and repetitive hand movement
- Ability to lift and move 30 lbs. or more
- Knowledge of surrounding areas and local events
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
- Exceptional problemsolving skills

Skills Proven experience as a Night Auditor or in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry Experience with accounting and facilities management software Excellent math skills An eye for detail Good problem-solving skills Strong customer service skills The ability to multitask Strong written and verbal communication skills Availability to work overnight BSc in accounting, finance or relevant field
