Yusudi was launched in 2016 and to date we have worked with 500 companies and engaged with thousands of professionals looking to build their sales careers. We are excited about sales and have a profound belief that selling should be an exciting positive and fulfilling experience for both parties.
Jijali Learning is a virtual training program providing entrepreneurship career readiness and sales training to youth aged 1835 years. The program combines online learning content field tasks and virtual mentorship support to provide a unique practical and customised learning journey to each learner.
The Mentor engagement is on a consultancy basis. The Mentors primary role is to support learners in either the career track entrepreneurship track or sales track by providing feedback advice and motivation based on the field tasks submissions and trainees individual career/business/sales goals. This is an opportunity to help young Kenyans accelerate their professional growth and achieve their career/business goals.
Parttime Mentors:
Number of trainees mentored each week 20 30 depending on the mentor s availability
Time commitment per week 1 hour per trainee and one additional hour per month for group coaching
The mentors will be required to attend a virtual training before the program starts. The mentors will work remotely from any preferred location with strong internet and phone network access.
Yusudi will offer a stipend to the mentors based on the number of trainees allocated to them.
The stipend is 500 Kenya shillings per trainee per month.
Yusudi will provide airtime based on the number of trainees per month
The mentor will have access to virtual conferencing capabilities for group meetings in collaboration with the Jijali administration
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the allocated number of learners with their learning journey through weekly coaching calls & monthly group coaching calls.
Analyze learners progress and assist learners in developing action steps to improve the gaps in their learning
Provide feedback to the submitted field tasks career goals business and/or sales activities for every learner
Support learners with challenges faced during the learning period by assisting them to identify the cause of the challenge and create possible solutions
Provide weekly reports on learners progress challenges and learning outcomes using a predefined template and provided CRM (customer relationship management) system
Assist learners in developing a problemsolving approach when faced with challenges during field tasks
Attend required mentor training sessions and monthly mentor meetings
Fill out a mentor survey giving recommendations for program improvement based on learners feedback challenges and learning progress
Deliver actionbased advice and inspiration through the application of coaching methods
The mentors should:
Have a proven deep interest in personal development and a passion for helping other people realise their potential
Be able to connect with different personalities and understand how to ask the right questions to encourage people to open up. They are people persons .
Have fluent verbal communication skills
Have excellent reporting skills
Articulate themselves clearly and adapt their communication styles based on their audience
Be able to develop reflective questions for their mentees
Be able to give clear actionable and honest feedback
Demonstrate patience flexibility and problemsolving skills
Have previous mentorship experience (preferred)
Should have an Inspirational approach to coaching
Having worked with vulnerable and atrisk youth is an added advantage
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required education: Bachelors degree in any related field
Required relevant work experience: 2 years
For those interested in entrepreneurship mentorship having a business working with startups and having sales experience is an added advantage
Required languages: English and Swahili (Spoken: fluent Written: fluent)
