The Role
To manage and facilitate the efficient undertaking of Castores logistics operations and carriage activities in the UK for eCommerce Retail Wholesale & Gift of Kit. These consist of:
A network of carriers managed directly by Castore or through a service provider.
The multichannel distribution centre located in Knowsley.
Responsibilities
Manage overseeing all activities at our distribution centre
Oversee all delivery interactions for all customer channels within the UK
Oversee all customer communications around fulfilment of our responsibilities.
Measure and drive performance in our activities to improve customer satisfaction and efficiency
Foster and promote links between the different 3rd parties logistics teams and head office functions
Ensure that operational & tactical and planning for site activities and carrier services is being undertaken
Ensure that relationships and contractual obligations are being met by all parties within your remit
Support and/or project manage the further development of the UK site (automation and software)
What does success look like
Fulfilment activities have been regularly communicated to internal and external customers & stakeholders any issues have been effectively reported and solved
Reports on delivery activity have been created and maintained
Projects (systems handling solutions ) have been supported in analysis solution development and implementation
Continuous improvement is driven with a goal to increase operational excellence with reduced costs
Ways in which to streamline and improve working processes have been recommended
The necessary level of operational & tactical capacity with all 3PL business partners in the UK delivering efficient and cost effective solutions has been provided
Skills & Qualities
General Skills:
Excellent communication skills together with the ability to negotiate and influence parties both within and outside of the business at all levels
Commercially astute in order to drive appropriate decision making

Able to manage and prioritise own workload effectively especially in a time critical environment
Ability to work effectively in an autonomous environment
Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload
Ability to work in silo or part of a team
Operating Skills:
An indepth understanding of logistics KPIs/SLAs and the ability to ensure that suppliers are hitting targets
Understanding of the B2C and B2B carrier market
Excellent knowledge of the carriage sector of eCommerce parcel and pallet distribution
Knowledge of the logistics warehousing sector and previous experience of dealing with third party contractors
WMS system knowledge required
Experience required:
Working within an logistics environment
Management experience
Retail sector wholesale and eCommerce experience
Particularly sports/fashion retail is preferred
Experience with carriage and warehousing
Experience in working with external partners
Previous experience working for a 3PL or managed inhouse operation ideally
