Construction Engineer

Responsible for the coordination, Contract execution and monitoring / enforcement of Company engineering and construction standards at the Contractor fabrication facilities. Work throughout the project life cycle with Contractor engineering and Construction Site personnel, Company engineers, and other Company site personnel to achieve project realisation that meet or exceed the Company requirements and objectives. Tasks And Duties • A Provide technical consultancy and support as required throughout the piping design, engineering and yard fabrication. • Verify the isometric drawings and line list, material take off, detail drawings, support drawing, and generally all construction-related drawings. Ensure technical assistance on site for mechanical issues, site sketches etc. Review and comment on mechanical engineering deliverables (PFD P&ID, HAZOP & HAZID studies, data sheets, Layout, Isometric drawings etc.). • Ensure all engineering and execution works are carried out in accordance with Company Norms and Standards and meets those requirements. • Review as-built documentation including drawings to comply with Company requirements. • Review isometrics and general arrangement drawings issued for construction. • Analyze and comment engineering modifications submitted by Contractors and provide necessary consultancy to the project execution. • Check method statements and provide input related to engineering designs. • Check project technical documents and applicable codes and specifications for tolerances and stresses. • Be involved in all reviews and approvals as required and implement Company engineering standards, policies and procedures. • Check prefabrication site engineering activities for quality/quantity/safety reasons. • Liaison with Company Stakeholders, project engineering team and Contractors. • Continuously check and monitor the execution of the site works to ensure compliance with Company requirements and contract specifications. • Issue specific reports related to engineering, installation, testing and acceptance. • Follow up any management instructions and related tasks associated with the fabrication. • Act as first contact point for Contractors for any clarification relevant to engineering issues. • Check the correct installation of special pipe supports and the use of correct type of standard support. • Supply required information for construction reports. • Provide assistance in pre-commissioning and commissioning activity as required. Assist with any Punch lists & check sheets. • Monitor Project HSE Plan requirements and enforce conformity through regular monitoring and participating in remedial actions. • Monitor development, implementation, tracking and maintaining of the Project Safety Plan (including relevant KPIs). Ensure safe performance in all aspects and phases of the project • Appraise the contractors performance on the project execution to ensure the work is performed in accordance with contract requirements and project specifications of high quality and in a safe manner within the project schedule. • Participate in risk assessment strategies to reduce the risks. • Participate in all site risk assessments and comment on any mitigation measures to be implemented, and advise on critical tasks including namely scaffolding, transportation and heavy lifting as required.
