Job Description

Summer Internship: Calibration Management System for Quantum Computers

Summary:

QuEra invites ambitious students to join our team for a summer internship contributing to a crucial calibration management system for our leadingedge quantum computer. This role is a unique opportunity for students at the intersection of computer science and quantum technology providing practical experience in an advanced technological environment.

The successful applicant will work alongside our Quantum Controls Team in developing a system which monitors the health and status of a number of calibrated machine settings detects anomalies stale calibrations and error states and executes a decisionmaking matrix to take actions to recover the system to a working calibrated state.

No prior experience in quantum computing is necessary making this an excellent chance to step into the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in building a calibration management system that monitors machine outputs evaluates calibration states and ensures metrics comply with specified standards.
  • Contribute to automating calibration processes to maintain the quantum computers calibrated state including supporting calibration initiation as needed.
  • Help develop mechanisms for the systems recovery from outofspecification states.
  • Participate in monitoring the health and status of each calibrated parameter to aid in assessing system performance and stability.
  • Work under oneonone guidance of a mentor as part of a multidisciplinary team including software developers quantum physicists and engineers to integrate the calibration system with our existing quantum computing infrastructure seamlessly.

Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science Applied Physics or related field accompanied with strong programming skills.
  • Proficiency in Python with an ability to write clean maintainable code.
  • An eagerness to learn about quantum computing principles and technologies although no prior experience or coursework in quantum computing required.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills attention to detail and passion for teamwork.
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Practical experience with graphbased data structures and algorithms including traversing optimizing and manipulating graphs in significant projects or advanced coursework.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to substantial software development projects with multiple contributors such as established opensource projects or teambased academic or commercial software development.


Onsite internship. There is no relocation offered for this role.
