Job Summary: Business Unit Manager
The Business Unit Manager is responsible for driving results within a business unit by implementing a value generation strategy. This strategy aims to achieve consistent yearoveryear growth while surpassing customer service expectations.

Their key responsibilities include:
- Leadership: The Business Unit Manager leads a crossfunctional team comprising sales operations and engineering professionals.
- Financial Accountability: They oversee bookings profit and loss and ensure cost objectives are met.
- Contract Negotiations: The manager plays a pivotal role in negotiating contracts with clients.
- Customer Relationship Management: Developing and maintaining strong customer relationships is a key focus.
- Operational Oversight: The Business Unit Manager monitors operating activities to optimize efficiency.
- Value Creation: Emphasizing valuebased pricing productivity enhancements and profitable new business ventures.
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing this role serves as a critical steppingstone for career advancement into senior management positions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Achieve Objectives: Responsible for achieving bookings sales and profit objectives.
- Value Creation: Drive consistent value creation through valuebased pricing productivity and profitable new business.
- Business Strategy: Develop and execute a Business Unit strategy resulting in yearoveryear growth.
- Team Leadership: Lead and guide the business team in pursuing profitable new business while maintaining clear focus and priorities within the product team.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement initiatives to improve team responsiveness to customer/business needs including quality and ontime product delivery.
- Engineering Coordination: Prioritize and coordinate engineering activities in support of business unit goals.
- Operations Management: Coordinate operations activities to ensure cost goals prioritize customer needs and resolve quality issues.
- Quarterly Reviews: Develop and present quarterly business reviews to executive management.
- Customer Relationships: Develop positive relationships with customers.
- Contract Responsibilities: Responsible for contract review and negotiations.
- Work Environment: Foster a performanceoriented work environment with high accountability.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Education:
- A Bachelor s degree or higher from an accredited university or college is required.
- A technical degree is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of total experience is necessary.
- This experience should include roles with increasing responsibility in areas such as Sales Operations Finance and/or Engineering.
- Industrial experience is preferred.
- Skills and Attributes:
- Results and actionoriented: The candidate should take ownership of the team s performance and drive results.
- Strong analytical verbal and written skills: Ability to communicate effectively.
- Interpersonal skills: The ability to interface with all levels of Company customers and management staff.
- Leadership experience: The candidate should have led direct reports and crossfunctional teams.
- Travel:
- The candidate should be willing to travel up to 20% as required by business needs
- Location: Able to work onsite in Buena Park CA (Northern Orange County).
